Can water damage my analyser?

PDFPrintE-mail

Yes, if water is sucked into the analyser the inlet to the oxygen sensor can become blocked and it stops working. It will then display "-----" or error O2, depending on the make of the analyser. Water can also damage the CO sensor.
Where this happens, there will be a charge if the sensors need to be replaced even if if the analyser is under warranty.
If you experience this condition, it may be possible to rectify the problem yourself. Leave the instrument in a warm place for a few hours with the pump running and connected to the mains adapter/charger. This may dry out the oxygen sensor enough to get a reading or correct the problem, but the damage may have already been done.
If you still have problems, please ring our  Instrument Service Department.
